What is HTML5?

The History Behind HTML5
The first static web page saw the light in 1989 when renowned physicist Tim Berners-Lee created the first version of HTML. The main objective back then is to link chunks of information in the form of static HTML pages. Now the technology is grown into such an amazing state of the art technology that it threatens the existence of java in the web world. Another similar technology for the Web Flash can now finally rest in peace.

When the first drafts of HTML5 start flowing in, W3C and the whole HTML5 community was skeptical of the release date of the final draft. The community was horrified at the claims of W3C that HTML5 will see the day of the light in 2022.
HTML5 is always in working condition, but most of the features were in non-recommended state. Now, with the final draft, every developer can feel free to experiment and implement the full power of HTML5 before thinking twice.
The notion of being released earlier can be a tricky one to get excited about, but it's a great milestone for the Open Web platform. Many web developers would argue that HTML5 was already ready, but major browsers still need time to completely implement all the latest specification in the browser.

With the final draft, HTML5 has finally entered into rich internet applications both mobile and cloud-driven.
